First you have to put the metal frame in the Radio DIN hole and secure it by bending the little metal sides. Make sure it's fixed to the dashboard.
Then take the big cable with a while and a black connector and connect it to your Radio connector. They only fit in 1 side so look if you have to correct one.If you are installing extra back speakers the wires from your Radio to the car connectors is the section that you need to connect those extra wires to. Make sure you check the manual to see which wire color is what.
Connect the antenna cable to your Radio. I needed a adapter between the Radio and the original connector to make this fit.
Then push all you wires gently back in the whole. And push you Radio in untill it's fixed. Normally you hear a click.
Here you can see how it looks. You can also see that you need an extra cover plate to make everything fit really nicely.
I ordered one of these from my dealer for 12 euro. You have to take everything out again, even the metal frame to get this to fit.
All done.
hey there, your blog looks really good. I have a question for you though about installing the rear speakers. Im not running an amp if i can help but i need to remove my standard cd player to fit the rear speaker wires. how can i get the cd player out? thanks james, Devon, UK

ReplyDeleteWhat you could try is taking the heater button of, that reveals a screw and when you unscrew that you can take the whole centre console away.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to ask you something: yesterday I removed the built-in stereo and installed the one I had in my previous car - the quite nice Sony CDX-GT700. All went well, sound is clearly superior (especially with BPE and equaliser enabled), however when I went back into my car in the afternoon after work, I found it had lost all its settings - radio memories, clock, everything... It turns out that when I switch the engine off it loses everything. Never had this before, so I was wondering if there's something I should take care while installing? I did see that the power connector of the stereo had an extra live (=wired) 'thingy' (what do you call the small sockets/pin receptors?) than the power connector coming out of the car, but I'm not sure what that one does.
Would you happen to have any idea on that? Is there something I should take care of on my Aygo's side?

I had the same problem, you have to switch the permanent power cable with the contact switch power cable, on this car they are switched around.

Stupid question time... I want to put an aftermarket single DIN radio/cd/dvd in my 107. I have bought the facia adapter. However, I cannot see how to get the factory fit unit out! Don't want to damage the dash, so thought I'd ask here. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious?
ReplyDeletePull the ventilator switch off (the one in the middle) there is a screw behind it, then you have to pull the unit + a part of the middle dash out.

the wires that come from your back speakers an be connected in two ways.
ReplyDelete1. connect them straigt to the wires that come from the Radio
2. connect them to the wires right to the iso connector but you have to buy those little pinns that fit into the iso connector.

ReplyDeleteGuido thanks to your excellent site you saved me a load of fuss and hassle and my Aygo now has its JVC KD-AVX2 in place, it took me all of 20 minutes to fit it and even have the wires round the right way for the power. And I went and brought the Iso Din adapter for the aerial before hand.

Hi. Ive got a C1. Im wanting to take the head unit out and put a JVC Head Unit in. I can't get the standard head unit out. Ive Pulled the ventilator switch off and undone the screw behind it, then i can't pull the unit + part of the middle dash out.
